![]() ![]() Again, talking about the actual melee mechanics - weapon variety in NV was way beyond 4. sometimes enemies won't take damage Bug Hey everybody, currently on a new playthrough and noticing sometimes enemies refuse to take damage (usually when close to death), exiting and re-entering the area seems to help solve this. It's certainly not good by any stretch of the imagination, but F3/NV melee combat was hair-raisingly awful. There's actually some, however small, amount of player skill involved, in blocking and timing attacks, instead of just mashing the attack button or having a stat-battle. Blocking that actually works, also a new one for Bethesda as opposed to constantly taking chip damage through your block like in their previous games. ESO and Ultimate Immersion presenting the new Fallout New Vegas mod list. You can actually block enemy melee attacks and not take a bunch of damage straight through your block. Fallout 4 enemies actually take hitstun so it feels like your attacks are having an effect on them (seriously, this was the god damn perennial Bethesda melee combat problem pre-F4 - fucking robed mages in Skyrim not even reacting to you hacking and smashing them with hard, heavy, sharp weapons), and you can use that to interrupt weapon users for what feels like a more fair playing field. It has much better weapon variety and it's generally more powerful (until you hit the really op stuff in Fallout 4), but in terms of actual combat mechanics I think it's much worse. ![]()
